Los Alamitos, CA — On August 25, Erickson-Hall Construction Co., in partnership with Los Alamitos Unified School District, proudly celebrated the completion of a landmark community project. The new Los Alamitos High School Gymnasium, formally known as the Griffin Center, is a state-of-the-art athletic facility designed for student-athletes to train, grow and excel within an empowering environment.

The transformative 33,362 square-foot facility showcases Erickson-Hall’s commitment to building spaces where communities thrive. The project scope included the demolition of the existing hardscape and construction of a brand-new gymnasium building. The building includes a three-court gym designed to accommodate multiple games and practices. The spectator experience is elevated through brand-new home and visitor team bleachers, a designated concession room and accessible restroom facilities. Additionally, the building includes a comprehensive weight room with outdoor witness areas, as well as aesthetic improvements to the exterior hardscape.

“The Griffin Center will be where young athletes develop work ethic, where teams will build character and where the Los Alamitos community will gather to celebrate athletic achievement,” said Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall Construction Co. “We are honored to have worked with the Los Alamitos Unified School District to create a space that empowers students to reach their full potential, both on and off the court.”
