El Cajon, CA – Erickson-Hall Construction Co., in partnership with Cajon Valley Union School District, gathered on Friday, April 25, to celebrate the successful completion of a brand-new classroom building at Excellence and Justice in Education (EJE) Academy Charter School. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at 10:30 a.m. at 851 S. Johnson Street.

“It’s been a privilege to bring this comprehensive facility at EJE Academies to life,” said Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall Construction Co. “Working closely with Cajon Valley Union School District allowed us to create a space that supports bilingual learning and is a collaborative environment where students are empowered to grow and succeed.”

The new facility is a two-story, 38,000 square-foot wood-framed building that will house grades five through eight. The building is equipped with various facilities to support student success, including traditional classrooms and specific rooms for counseling, music, science and studying. Providing students with hands-on experiences, the building also houses a broadcasting studio and space for multi-media journalism classes.

The project scope was expansive, beginning with demolishing various existing structures, portables and site elements. Modernization efforts focused on improving campus accessibility, largely through the reconfiguration of existing parking zones to provide students, faculty and visitors with convenient access to the newly renovated campus. The parking alongside Grant Avenue was converted into a new drop-off/pick-up zone, creating more accessible parking stalls for the school.
