Covina, CA (February 23, 2024) – Covina-Valley Unified School District is pleased to announce that it will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, Feb. 26, for the highly anticipated Covina High School Pool Remodel project. Undertaken in collaboration with Erickson-Hall Construction Co., the groundbreaking event marks the beginning of an exciting journey at Covina High School toward a modernized aquatic facility.
Students, staff, community members, and project stakeholders will gather to commemorate the occasion. The revitalization of the school’s pool promises to create a dynamic environment conducive to athletic training, recreational activities and community engagement.
“The Covina High School Pool Remodel represents our dedication to providing state-of-the-art facilities that support the holistic development of our students,” said Dr. Elizabeth Eminhizer, Superintendent of Covina-Valley Unified School District. “We are excited to be working with Erickson-Hall Construction Co. on this initiative, as it underscores both of our team’s commitment to fostering vibrant educational environments where students can thrive both academically and athletically.”
The Covina High School Pool Remodel project, entrusted to Erickson-Hall Construction Co., a leading name in construction and renovation, involves replacing the existing pool and pool equipment at the high school with a new, 35 meter x 25 yard pool and aluminum bleacher seating for 400 spectators.
The remodel will also renovate the pool equipment building and add LED pool lighting, a pool timing system and a refresh of the scoreboard structure. The scope of work also includes galvanized ornamental iron fencing and gates, concrete and asphalt paving, site work, re-routing and upgrades of low voltage cabling, and associated subgrade utilities and patching.
Erickson-Hall Construction Co. is honored to be entrusted with the transformation of Covina High School’s aquatic facility. Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall, remarked, “We are privileged to collaborate with Covina-Valley Unified School District on this transformative project. The revitalized pool will serve as a hub for aquatic activities, promoting physical fitness, teamwork and community connection in Covina.
