Erickson-Hall Construction Co., in partnership with the San Diego Unified School District, has begun a site-wide modernization project at Standley Middle School. The comprehensive upgrades focus on improving campus functionality, enhancing safety and delivering high-quality learning environments for students and staff.
The project renovates eight campus buildings with updated interior finishes, new furnishings, fixtures, equipment upgrades, complete re-roofing and full HVAC system replacements. The impressive transformation is a reenvisioning of the Standley campus that will elevate safety and sustainability through a number of architectural updates and high-tech, modern features.
To enhance campus safety, Erickson-Hall is constructing a secure single point of entry equipped with modern exterior glazing and a steel entrance canopy, alongside interior reconfigurations within Buildings 200, 300 and 500. The transformation also includes updated landscaping, play areas, sports courts, accessibility upgrades, the removal of two existing portables and the installation of new EV charging stations.
“We are dedicated to providing students and faculty with facilities that will encourage learning, creativity and engagement,” said Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall. “We look forward to creating a space that meets the needs of the students for years to come, and serves as a lasting investment in the broader community.”
