San Diego, CA – Erickson-Hall Construction Co. has kicked off its eight-week Summer Sprint, an annual tradition in which the company completes a myriad of school projects simultaneously during the summer months. Every year, school

districts all state-wide gear up for a busy construction season while students and faculty are out of school for break.

“Our Summer Sprint tradition is a true testament to our commitment to innovation and efficiency while upholding Erickson-Hall’s rigorous standards of work excellence,” said Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall. “I am proud of our team for their thorough collaboration, meticulous planning and unwavering dedication that makes the Summer Sprint possible.”

As a leading construction company, Erickson-Hall is once again making waves with its Summer Sprint tradition. This summer, Erickson-Hall will implement summer sprint activities on several projects in multiple Southern California school districts, including:

  • Eastlake High School, Sweetwater Union High School District
  • Einstein Academy Charter Elementary School, San Diego Unified School District
  • Stanford Middle School, Long Beach Unified School District
  • Western High School, Anaheim Union High School District
  • Hesperia Unified School District Wide ELO-P, Hesperia (15 sites)
  • Victor Elementary School District Wide ELO-P, Victorville (17 sites)
  • Murrieta Elementary School, Murrieta Unified School District

These projects will all significantly improve their respective school sites and create a better learning environment for students and staff as they enter a new school year in the fall.

To ensure success, Summer Sprints require careful planning and coordination. In that vein, Erickson-Hall facilitates a Teaming and Collaborative Problem-Solving workshop before the construction season begins. This workshop brings together Contractors, Inspectors of Records (IOR), Architects and School Districts to ensure everyone is on the same page for each project. It encourages open discussion around innovation, new approaches and cutting-edge technologies, fostering an environment where creativity thrives. This focus on innovation has led to significant process improvements, cost savings and an elevated standard of construction excellence with each season.

The Summer Sprint’s fast-paced nature poses unique challenges, including the need for quick decision-making and limited planning time during construction. However, the key to Erickson-Hall’s success lies in early planning and ensuring the right team is selected for each project. Erickson-Hall believes in building and implementing team collaboration from the outset, with clearly established roles, responsibilities and expectations from each team member.

The success of Erickson-Hall’s Summer Sprint has not gone unnoticed, with clients consistently expressing their satisfaction with the projects’ speed and attention to detail.

“Erickson-Hall’s dedication to quality work and its ability to complete projects efficiently has been truly impressive. They have been a reliable partner in transforming our school to bring ample benefits not only to the students and faculty but to the surrounding community and district as a whole,” said Virginia Gutierrez, Director of Purchasing and Facilities at Hesperia Unified School District.

Erickson-Hall Construction Co.’s Summer Sprint continues to be a resounding success, with each year bringing fresh challenges and exciting opportunities for growth. Every Summer, Erickson-Hall proves that its commitment to excellence goes hand in hand with its dedication to fostering thriving communities through construction and modernization.
