Hesperia, CA – On Feb. 21, Erickson-Hall Construction Co. celebrated a major milestone in the Hesperia High School Event Center project, hosting a topping out ceremony. This time-honored construction tradition brought together Erickson-Hall project team members and Hesperia Unified School District leaders to sign the final beam before it was hoisted into place, marking the completion of the structural framework.

“We are honored to collaborate with Hesperia Unified School District in bringing this transformative project to life,” said Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall Construction Co. “The topping out ceremony signifies an important milestone in the process, and we look forward to delivering a facility that will serve as a cornerstone for education and community enrichment.”

The 35,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Event Center, which broke ground in December 2023, is designed to serve both students and the broader Hesperia community. The Event Center will feature a modern 500-seat auditorium with a professional-grade stage, classrooms tailored for student programs and a versatile multipurpose space capable of accommodating a variety of school and community functions.

“This milestone brings us one step closer to providing our students and community with a premier facility that will enhance learning, creativity, engagement and community support,” said David Olney, Superintendent of Hesperia Unified School District. “Watching this project come to life is truly inspiring, and we are excited about the opportunities it will provide.

In addition to the Event Center construction, the project also includes extensive landscaping, the relocating of campus tennis courts and other site enhancements to create a seamlessly integrated campus environment. Designed to meet the evolving needs of Hesperia’s diverse student body, the new facility will support academic initiatives, after-school programs, and community events, reinforcing the District’s commitment to inclusive education and engagement.

The project is on schedule for completion in Fall 2025. For more information about this project, visit EricksonHall.com.
