Erickson-Hall Construction Co., in partnership with the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, has completed the modernization of the Legacy Building at Lincoln Middle School. Delivered under a lease-leaseback contract, the project included renovation of the 16,000-square-foot classroom building, nine classroom renovations, office conversions, HVAC, exterior finishes and surrounding site improvements at the school.
This fall, students returned to the Legacy Building and are now using nine new math, science and general education classrooms, covered outdoor learning areas and flexible learning spaces to support modern teaching practices. The renovated facility serves as the dedicated 8th-grade hub, built to support collaboration, creativity and modernized learning.
The Legacy Building’s transformation is complete with a cutting-edge innovation lab for STEM projects and a new mini amphitheater for outdoor activities. The exterior also features a new main entrance visible from 14th Street.
