Indio, CA – On Friday, August 15, Erickson-Hall Construction Co., in partnership with the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE), celebrated a major milestone — the “topping out” ceremony — in the construction of a new RCOE Conference Center and Administrative Building. A topping out ceremony celebrates the moment a final beam is placed atop a new structure, symbolizing the completion of its framework and the steady progress towards a grand opening.
This topping out ceremony marks an exciting milestone in bringing this functional and modern conference center to life, once complete, it will provide students and educators of the Greater Coachella Valley with a space that fosters learning, collaboration and community for generations to come. From student competitions and professional development training to regional conferences and partnership events, this facility will stand as a beacon of RCOE’s commitment to the transformative power of education.
On track for completion in June 2026, the RCOE Conference Center will serve as a critical hub for education in Riverside County. Its 33,000 square-foot footprint features a conference center with skyfold walls, 22 office spaces and an open workspace for 30 staff members, a warehouse, 290 parking spots, a walking trail around the facility and more. These comprehensive upgrades will improve the facility’s functionality and increase opportunities for student, teacher and educator collaboration.
“It is an honor to partner with Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) on this state-of-the art facility. This project embodies Erickson-Hall’s commitment to producing spaces that empower communities and foster both academic and professional growth,” said Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall Construction Co. “From administrators and educators to the talented students in Riverside County, we are delighted to help enhance this essential academic infrastructure.”
