Indio, CA (December 11, 2024) – On Thursday, Dec. 12, Erickson-Hall Construction Co. will break ground on a new conference center and administrative building for the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) in Indio. This new facility will significantly expand RCOE’s capacity to serve the community, adding a state-of-the-art conference center equipped with skyfold walls, new office spaces, increased parking capacity, a warehouse and more.

A groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the construction site behind the existing RCOE office at the corner of Dr. Carreon Boulevard and Calhoun Street (47-110 Calhoun Street, Indio).

“We are excited to begin construction on this functional and modern conference center that will benefit students and educators of the Greater Coachella Valley for generations to come,” said Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Edwin Gomez. “From student competitions and professional development trainings to regional conferences and partnership events with the community, this facility will serve as a beacon of commitment to the transformative power of education.”

The project is slated for completion in April 2026 and marks a major milestone in RCOE’s ongoing efforts to provide modern, efficient spaces for not only day-to-day administrative operations but community collaboration. The new facility will serve as an education hub for the region, reinforcing RCOE’s mission to ensure high-quality education opportunities for all students in Riverside County.

Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall Construction Co., expressed pride in the partnership with RCOE and the significance of the project. “We are honored to work with the Riverside County Office of Education on this transformative development,” said Gates. “This facility will not only enhance the administrative capabilities of RCOE but also provide a vital resource for the entire community.”
