Valley Center, CA Erickson-Hall Construction Co. joined community leaders and fire officials on November 18 to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the Valley Center Fire Protection District Temporary Fire Station No. 3, a critical infrastructure project that is strengthening emergency response capabilities for the growing Valley Center community.

Located on a 10-acre parcel at the northwest intersection of Cole Grade Road and Cole Grade Lane, Fire Station No. 3 is strategically positioned to improve response times in northern Valley Center. The temporary station expands the District’s operational capacity while long-term facility planning continues.

“This new station strengthens our ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies in the northern part of our district,” said Joe Napier, Fire Chief at Valley Center Fire Protection District. “Erickson-Hall has been a trusted partner throughout this process, ensuring that the station meets our operational needs and is ready to support our crews from day one. We are grateful for their dedication and collaboration.”

The project scope included mass grading, domestic and fire water connections, overhead electrical service, and site improvements. A key component of the project was relocating two portable homes and a carport canopy from Harmony Grove Fire Station No. 5 in Escondido. These structures were repurposed to provide housing for emergency personnel and to accommodate the District’s Type 1 fire engine.

“Erickson-Hall is proud to partner with the Valley Center Fire Protection District to deliver a facility that directly enhances public safety,” said Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall Construction Co. “By leveraging an innovative design approach and creatively repurposing existing structures, our team helped the District establish a fully functional station cost-effectively and efficiently. We are honored to support the firefighters who serve this community every day.”

This project marks another successful collaboration between Erickson-Hall and a public safety agency, reinforcing the company’s long-standing commitment to delivering high-quality facilities for the communities it serves.
