OCEANSIDE — A $650,000 campaign drive to renovate the Boys & Girls Club of Oceanside is underway. The club, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is working with Groth Architects and Erickson Hall Construction to update its main Townsite branch at 401 Country Club Lane. The renovation scheduled for completion by October, is slated to include a new lobby, kitchen and bathrooms along with a remodeled game room and educational learning lab featuring glass walls. The renovation will bring the facility up to the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Boys & Girls Club alum, Jim Baird, a painter, has donated his services and supplies to repaint the exterior of the building.
The nonprofit club is looking for support from community members through donations, corporate matching programs and fundraisers.
