Median Work Scheduled in Vista
May 15, 2008
Starting May 15, motorist in the city of Vista will have to find alternative routes as workers install a traffic light at the intersection of South Melrose Drive and Green Oak Road.
Left turns will not be allowed onto these two streets and signs will be in place to maintain and direct traffic through the work zone.
This installation is expected to take three weeks and is part of the city’s two new fire station construction projects.
Erickson Hall Construction Co. is the general contractor with Jeff Katz Architecture hired to design the project.
Cost of the project is $12.2 million. Construction of both stations is occurring concurrently and funding for this project was made possible through increased revenue provided by Proposition L -- a half-cent sales tax increase approved by Vista voters in November 2006.\
Fire station No. 5 will be located at South Melrose Drive and Green Oak Road, and Fire Station No. 6 is being built at East Vista Way between Escondido Avenue and Franklin Lane.
